Dear CHS Community,

On November 6, the Acorn printed a terrific article, "School health clerk launches advisory group." We're so proud of this program and of CHS health clerk, Joey Levin, for her sensitivity, vision and committment to our community.

Excerpt:
A parent advisory program started last year at Calabasas High School by health clerk Joey Levin is open to parents througout the Las Virgenes Unified School District this year. The adults-only educational program, called RAP (Resolve and Problem-Solve) was launced by Levin in 2007 to help parents "discuss real teen issues," Levin said. Dennis Poncher, the creator of the tough love program, BILY, which stands for Because I Love You, will be the featured speaker on Wed. November 12. Levin said Poncher's talk should be relevant to parents of children of all ages.

Mission Statement

The mission of Calabasas High School is to educate all students to the highest degree of their individual abilities. Every student is expected to be a critical thinker and problem solver with the ability to comprehend and think through complex issues. Each student will develop the vital skills of interpreting information and communicating effectively. Our students are expected to develop academic, personal, and social skills and become contributing members of society.

About CHS

Calabasas High School is a four-year, Freshman to Senior, high school. CHS is one of 3 high schools in the Las Virgenes Unified School District. (Calabasas High School, Agoura High School and Indian Hills High School) CHS is located at the southwestern edge of the San Fernando Valley and serves portions of Calabasas and West Hills. On September 26, 2006, Calabasas High School was awarded the National Blue Ribbon Award, an award that puts the school in the top ten percent of high schools in the state.
