Students are expected to remain in the courses they select. Students enrolling in yearlong coursers are expected to remain in those courses for the entire year unless there is a clear indication that the student is failing the course at the end of the semester and the teacher recommends that the student not continue. The spring preregistration is the basis for developing the total master program.
Changes will be made only
(1) to accommodate summer school work successfully completed,
(2) because of the lack of a necessary prerequisite for the class,
(3) because of school or computer error, or
(4) with extenuating circumstances.
Requests for program changes must be turned into the counselor. Teacher preference or period preference will not be considered sufficient reason for a program change.
Up to the 7th week, a student 10th grade and above with good attendance and discipline record may with parents' permission drop a class and replace it with School Service and without suffering the penalty of withdraw/fail.
No student may drop a class after the seventh week of any semester without the penalty of the class showing on the transcript with a "W" (withdraw/fail). Level changes within a subject may be made up to one week following the issuance of quarter grades, with parents' approval. Check with your counselor.
