REGISTRATION BEGINS SOON!!!
If your son or daughter has an interest in film, acting, writing, directing, producing, or interdisciplinary learning, he/she should join the Academy of Media & Entertainment (AME). This is a cohort program where a small group of students travels from class to class together, and in addition to learning core academics, they learn about the world of video production. Not only is this an opportunity for them to enjoy the benefits of a smaller, more intimate class setting, but also it is an opportunity for your child to make connections between English, history, and broadcast through interdisciplinary projects.
The Academy offers college prep credit plus real world skills and increased teacher support in an atmosphere that fosters learning (our students repeatedly say that the relationship we all share is like family!).
Additionally, the Academy takes learning outside of the classroom with field trips to the Ojai Film Festival, Warner Brothers Studio, and Paramount Pictures. Furthermore, we have workshops (resume writing, presentation skills, etc.), guest speakers, and study nights.
Whether your child has a sincere interest in film or simply needs a creative approach to get hooked on learning, tell your child to talk to his/her counselor today about signing up for AME in the fall. Your child can also pick up an application and get more information in Mr. Gersh's room, L5.
