Dear CHS Community,
What a great first week! The seniors roared onto the campus with enthused cries of “Go Gold!” Students greeted one another with high-fives and hugs. I can tell we are in for a year of spirit, Coyote pride and inspiring successes.
Pick-Up & Drop-Off
Thank you for using the Mulholland and Valmar Drop-off/Pick-Up zones or arranging for other offsite zones. Be sure to PULL FORWARD in the zones so as to keep traffic moving smoothly. U-turns are dangerous to both motorists and pedestrians - don't put yourself or others at risk. Kudos to students walking and riding their bikes! Kudos also to students staying afterschool to socialize or take care of school business.
Dress Code
Students need to dress appropriately for school. No strapless tops or sagging pants . Thank you in advance for helping me monitor student dress!
Attendance
Daily attendance is critical to success in school. We will be aggressively monitoring attendance so that we can improve student success and increase our funding based on average daily attendance. When your child is absent, call or email
This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
or send your child with a note when they return. NEW PROCEDURE – NOTES WILL BE PLACED IN A DROP-BOX OUTSIDE THE COUNSELING OFFICE STAIRS. Students that do not take care of uncleared absences will be given disciplinary consequences.
RACI
Thanks again to the terrific RACI team led by parent volunteers Penny Salomon and Mathy Wasserman! Now that the documents are efiled, they will be easier to read and edit, saving countless clerical and parent time. This is a prime example of how to effectively and efficiently leverage technology to save time and resources.Thank you to the team that worked “behind the scenes” to make it happen. Office assistant Lisa Solomon worked throughout her summer break on the documents and the website. Thank you!
New Coyote Staff
CHS welcomes Assistant Principal Brian Mercer, science teacher Ms. Galon, social studies/PE teacher Mr. Jennings and campus supervisor Ms. Taylor. We are currently accepting applications on EdJoin for a 3.5 hour clerk to assist with attendance and phone calls.
Schedule
Next week we are on traditional schedule. No school Monday, Thursday or Friday. BE SURE TO BE IN SCHOOL ON TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY!
Enjoy your Labor Day Weekend!
