Independent Study 2023-24

Thank you for reading this summary of the following processes and documentation for implementing Independent Study (IS). Implementing these with consistency and accuracy is critical, so that we can claim accurate apportionment (ADA) for student attendance.  

Short Term Independent Study is for students through their school site who are absent 3 to 14 days consecutively.  While there are circumstances that can extend this, they are rare. Please check with the CHS Attendance Office regarding any questions.

Any student who will be participating in IS needs to request an Independent Study agreement from the Attendance Office. Please email chsattendance@lvusd.org to request an Independent Study agreement and explain the reason for the request.
